Streptococcus pneumoniae is one of the leading causes of bacteremia (S. pneumoniae in the blood), bacterial meningitis (infection in the lining around the brain), pneumonia (lung infection), and middle ear infections in infants and young children, and remains a significant cause of disease worldwide.
This research study is to evaluate an investigational vaccine intended to increase protection against infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae.
Eligible participants…
- Must be 42 to 90 days old
- Must NOT have received a non-live vaccine in the past 14 days, or a live vaccine in the past 30 days
- Must NOT have already received a pneumococcal vaccine
- Will receive compensation for study-related time
- Do not need insurance to join this study
