Meridian Clinical Research, a leading multi-specialty site network, has opened a new site in Kearney, NE. Meridian is partnering with Brad Rodgers Family Practice & Sports Medicine, a provider of family medicine, hormone therapy, and sports medicine services. The research site will be located within the Brad Rodgers clinic at 102 3rd Ave., Suite A, Kearney, NE, 68845.
As a Principal Investigator, Brad Rodgers, MD, will oversee clinical trials related to general medicine, weight loss, migraines, diabetes, dermatology, sports medicine (orthopedic studies), and vaccine studies for people of all ages.
Nicole Osborn, Founder and CEO of Meridian, said, “Many people from the Kearney area have travelled to our Hastings and Grand Island sites to join clinical trials. Our Kearney site will make clinical research more accessible for people in Kearney and farther west in Nebraska. Along with Dr. Rodgers, we’re excited to bring more opportunities to Nebraskans to support the development of new medicines.”
“We look forward to giving our patients and their families a greater breadth of care options,” said Brad Rodgers, MD. “Whether you’re someone who simply wants to help advance medicine, or you have a medical condition for which there’s no effective treatment on the market, clinical trials provide a way to access therapies in development and contribute to the next generation of research.”
Clinical trials (also called “clinical studies” or “research studies”) are conducted to collect safety and efficacy data for investigational drugs, medical devices, diagnostics, and other health-related products. These studies offer a way for almost anyone — regardless of age, ethnicity, or background — to help move science forward. Eligible participants usually receive compensation for study-related time and travel. These studies also offer more care options for patients suffering from common, unique, and rare health conditions.
The site will be Meridian’s eleventh in Nebraska, and follows the company’s opening of a cardiology research clinic in Lincoln earlier this year. Meridian now has 37 sites nationwide. The company was founded in 1999 and has enrolled more than 85,000 participants into clinical trials since its inception.
