Over 650 million people globally struggle with obesity. Obesity is associated with an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes (T2D), hypertension, cardiovascular (CV) disease, obstructive sleep apnea, urinary incontinence, several types of cancers, and many other medical conditions. Losing weight with lifestyle changes can be difficult to maintain long-term, and weight-loss surgeries can come with major risks.
Meridian is now enrolling for a study that is evaluating if a new investigational medication can help with weight loss in conjunction with lifestyle changes.
- Must be age 18 or older
- Must have either a BMI of 27-29.9 kg/m2 with the presence of at least one weight-related comorbidity (such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, obstructive sleep apnea, or cardiovascular disease) OR have a BMI of 30 or higher without any weight-related comorbidity
- Must NOT be diagnosed with diabetes
