The Need for Multiple Sclerosis Research
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease of the central nervous system. Onset typically occurs between the ages of 20 and 40 years. Evidence suggests that MS is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and damage in the central nervous system. MS is the most common disabling neurological disease of young adults, and limited approved MS therapies are currently available.
