Pneumococcal Vaccine Study

Pneumococcal disease is caused by a type of bacterium called Streptococcus pneumoniae. S pneumonia is a common cause of pneumonia, sepsis (blood infection), and other serious conditions. Researchers are studying an investigational vaccine that may provide protection against pneumococcal disease.

Eligible participants…

  • Must be age 50 or older
  • Must be healthy, or must not have a serious or unstable chronic condition
  • Will receive compensation for time and travel
  • Do not need insurance to join this study
