Monkeypox and Smallpox Vaccine and Medication Study

  • Compensation: Up to $2,500

In this study, participants will receive an FDA-approved vaccine (JYNNEOS) for prevention of smallpox and monkeypox at no cost, and an FDA-approved oral antiviral medication (TPOXX) or placebo. The main objective of this study is to learn whether or not your body will make a protective substance called an antibody after receiving the JYNNEOS vaccine together with TPOXX. No participants will be exposed to smallpox or monkeypox as part of this study.

Eligible participants…

  • Must be a healthy adult between the ages of 18 and 42
  • Must weigh less than 265 lbs. (120 kgs)
  • Will receive up to $2,500 in compensation for study-related time
  • Will receive an FDA-approved vaccine for prevention of smallpox and monkeypox at no cost
  • Do not need insurance to join this study
